We are black and white photographs, but also terracotta coloured walls. We are history and design. We are memories that last forever. Welcome to this intimate and atypical island home, which is part of the seafront of Palma, in the historic heart of the city.
You will sleep in rooms and suites loft style, with stunning sea views and to Palma’s bay. You will live among original wooden beams, local fabrics and Huguet ceramic bathrooms.
Furniture by Carl Hansen, Vincent Van Duysen, Living Divani, lamps by Lumine, Santa Cole and Oluce coexist with 87 photographs that capture the beauty of the sea, above and below the water.
Jose Taltavull and Xim Izquierdo give life to “As Above So Below”, a black and white art collection created especially for Calatrava. “We share a vision of Mallorca that is not reached by the tourist eye”.
A few meters from the Cathedral and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, you will discover the unprecedented version of the island of Mallorca, which you will bid farewell to every night from a rooftop with panoramic sea views.

SEA BAR
Before finalizing our menu of tapas and small plates, we sampled a bevy of the delights from every corner of our delicious island and country. From melt-in-your-mouth Don Bocarte anchovies to crumbly artisanal cheeses that pair beautifully with local wine… only the most superlative delicacies passed our rigorous taste test!
The result is an informal yet sophisticated menu which will leave gourmands spoilt for choice. In fact, even the most decisive foodies will experience prolonged moments of indecision before settling on what to feast.
Only the finest regional ingredients and expertly purveyed charcuterie and conservas are used to create our Mediterranean-inspired and carefully curated menu. A wonderful showcase of local delicatessens and small producers, the menu includes S’Aglà’s artisan cheeses and Albert Adrià’s conservas, traditionally smoked meats and 0-km sourdough bread.

TAILORED TRAINING
We are aware of the care that the mind and body deserve. In Calatrava you can enjoy private yoga and pilates classes in your suite or in the Parc de la Mar. We have also created a route to run by the sea if you would like to complete your routine outdoors.
ART
Jose Taltavull and Xim Izquierdo danced “break dance” when they were 10 and 12 years old. After living abroad for a while, the artists met again on their native island to dress Calatrava with 87 black and white photographs.
“As Above So Below” is a tribute to their land, our land and, of course, to the sea. “The Sea seems to have no limits, neither above nor below the horizon. Only the Sky is bigger than the Sea”, explains Taltavull.
Xim immortalizes the Mallorca we dive and Jose the one we see on the surface while we sail. The horizon is the line that divides the work of both artists, who mix depth and simplicity in a collection removed from the traditional “hotel art”, created especially for Calatrava.
