HISTORY
Hacienda Peña Pobre is located in a beautiful natural and cultural space currently protected by the National Institute of Anthropology and History.
This XVII century Hacienda’s history actually goes way back in time when former owner Martin Cortés, son of “El Conquistador” Hernan Cortés, wandered around the hallways where wheat mills worked vigorous shifts.
Long after, these same mills became the structure base for the old “Paper Fabric of Loreto and Peña Pobre”, which stopped working in 1985 to then be reopened years after by “Decu Hotels” as a contemporary and luxurious hotel that shelters in its facade vestiges of history.
Thus Born Hotel Hacienda Peña Pobre in 2010 imposing a new exquisite and intricate detailed architecture, with a modern design and a rich past, you’d be able to discover ancient relics and old photos of what this place used to be.

Amidst the leather settees and the books, there is no limit for the imagination. Our Library was design as an open space with no doors and high ceilings that allow our guests to find perfect harmony.

MUAC (Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo)
The MUAC is a 14,000 square-foot contemporary art museum on the grounds of Mexico City’s largest public University. The building itself, designed byarchitect Teodoro Gonzalez de Leon, attracts architecture and design fans.
