The 4-star historical Hotel Posa Posa is set in the mountain-side descending to the sea. Dècor is romantic and original, with hand painted tiling and Mediterranean colours on white backgrounds throughout the hotel room’s.

Situated in the centre of Positano, a 10 minutes walk downhill will take you to the beach, passing boutiques and panoramic pavement cafes along the way. A circular bus routes passes outside the hotel for those days when you might prefer not to walk.

The hotel’s name is linked to a precious Byzantine painting dating back from the 13th century and portraying the Virgin with Christ. After the Saracens stole the painting, they brought the painting back to this country because the Virgin unexpectedly made a seastorm break out saying them: “posa, posa” (in english: “Lay it down, lay it down”).

At the 4th level, with amazing view of Positano, Praiano and the sea, the Restaurant Mirage is the perfect place for a romantic candlelight dinner.

The sunny terrace of the restaurant is also the place where we serve the buffet breakfast in the morning. Our outdoor plunge pool with hydro-massage located on the roof top solarium is a magic place where you can relax and taste food and wines.

Hotel posa Posa location is city center, along the main road, close to the main shopping area and the restaurants. The Beach of Fornillo is 10 minutes walk. While The spiaggia grande is 15 minutes walk. You can reach this beach also by bus, which stops close to the hotel.

The spiaggia grande is the starting point for ferry and hydrofoil, or private excursions to Capri, Amalfi, Sorrento, Naples and Ischia. The nearest train station is Sorrento, and is far 15 km.
