When the project of our Locanda in Tuscany started, we found ourselves at a very important juncture: to sell luxury stays or to offer an unforgettable experience? It would have been easier to focus on the first one, but deep down it was not what we really wanted to do. We looked each other in the eyes and holding our hands we have chosen to try another way.

So we asked ourselves: what is the luxury world missing nowadays? What can we offer that is not easy to buy? And the answer was only one: LOVE. That was the beginning of our project, the cornerstone from which everything started.

We started looking for a place that radiates with pure energy, cause if it’s true that a breath-taking view and a good location are very important, what we were really looking for was that special feeling, when you enter the room, that you would carry in your heart and keep with you forever. We wanted a place where you’d love to come back to feel LOVE again and again.

When we first visited Castiglione d’Orcia and the Locanda in Tuscany, we had no doubt: that one was the perfect place for us to realize our project. We are trying to progress in harmony with our Guests but most of all with our surroundings and our co-workers.

Each one of them, in its daily routine and area of expertise, is encouraged to contribute at its best. The continuous flow of ideas and creativity is a gift we offer to our Guests, together with the unique and unforgettable experience of our amazing Val d’Orcia, UNESCO World Heritage Center.

Locanda in Tuscany’s aim is to offer you an emotion, a feeling that each one of our guests will always keep inside and we will be happy to meet you again every time you feel the need to come back, just as if we were old friends.

ROOMS & SUITES
The nine rooms of our luxury country resort Locanda in Tuscany in Castiglione d’Orcia, are arranged with furniture and colors that might offer harmony and relax to your stay. Some of them also have a patio facing our gardens, while others offer a view of the valley.

The huge windows, looking out over the amazing Val d’Orcia, will offer you a unique experience and a landscape you will never forget. The rooms of our cozy resort are divided into five categories: Deluxe, Deluxe with view, Grand Deluxe, Junior Suite and Suite.

You can choose if you prefer to stay in the main building or in the typical dependance, both are located within our gardens. The style is very essential, elegant, with very bright, sober and harmonious colors. This gives to each room and suite a peaceful atmosphere, bringing us back in time but always winking at the modern comfort.

We choose to offer to our Guests a unique experience taking particular care of your sleep. All our beds are handcrafted by local artisans avoiding the use of metals in order to grant a better quality of your sleep.

A bedstead made of wood is definitely better than the metallic one cause it isolates from the electromagnetic pollution as wood it’s not a conductor of energy, making it the best solution to offer you an healthy sleep and perfect for relaxation. Before your arrival you will be contacted by our staff to choose if you prefer to sleep and dream folded in linen or cotton sheets.

THE SUITE
Locanda in Tuscany can offer three different suites. One is placed on the first floor of the main building and is an open space provided with four windows offering a 180° view over the valley, Castiglione d’Orcia and each side of our resort. This suite is the best solution for honeymooner or couples in search of a romantic stay.

The other two suites are on the ground floor and are composed by separate spaces provided with a brick fireplace. Both have an outside huge private patio fully equipped, in the middle of our garden and overlooking the Rocca d’Orcia. They are the ideal choice also for family.

Thanks to their wide size we can add up to two extra single beds. Our three suites are equipped with king size beds and a freestanding bathtub located either in the bedroom or in the lounge room with the fireplace. Our suites are the perfect option for those looking for high comfort in every moment and are also particularly suited to long staying.

FAMILY ROOM
Two rooms belong to this category and both have a great view over the Val d’Orcia. They are situated on the first floor of the main building and can be reached by a staircase that overlooks to Castiglione d’Orcia. These accommodations have huge windows to frame amazing views and

are equipped with a private bathroom with spacious shower. Grand Deluxe rooms are around 35m², with king size bed (180×200) that can be split into two single beds if needed. It’s also possible to add an extra bed to comfortably host a third guest. They are definitely ideal for those travelers that are planning to enjoy a longer holiday at Locanda in Tuscany!

DOUBLE DELUXE
Two rooms belong to this group. Both rooms have a nice bathroom with a very huge shower and a king size bed (180×200). Our Double Deluxe rooms are around 25m² and have a direct access from the inner garden.

The Double Deluxe rooms are perfect for those couples looking for a relaxing stay just few steps away from the resort swimming pool and with a view over the gardens of Locanda in Tuscany and the village of Castiglione d’Orcia.

EXCLUSIVE USE 
Locanda in Tuscany can be also rented exclusively as a luxurious villa. It is a perfect choice for a relaxing holiday away from the crowd in a secluded location.

Immersed in Tuscany countryside close to Castiglione d’orcia in the scenic Val d’Orcia UNESCO heritage site, the indoor areas of the property extend for 700sqm including nine master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

The villa welcomes up to 24 people offering extensive outdoor facilities and prime views over the valley. Each one of the rooms is crafted from traditional elements like brick floors, wood-beam ceilings, exposed stone walls, harmonious colours, and antique furnishings. The all-wooden beds handcrafted by local artisans are outfitted with linen or cotton sheets.

It is fully air conditioned throughout and all the beds are king sized, with the possibility to make them twin.

Guests can lounge by the panoramic pool or plan a biking excursion in the surrounding countryside or discover the culinary treasures hidden away in the surrounding vineyards and farms.

The outside patios are ideal for alfresco dining all around the panoramic pool and the villa also offers a wide indoor living room. The villa is also pet friendly. The entire property goes under a deep cleaning and full sanitation prior Guests’ arrival, and the team members are operating in accordance to the latest healthy and security procedures.

DINING
The courtyard of our resort, reached by a 1.5 km dirt road, is home to a restaurant that makes the combination of flair and tradition its strong point.

Adjacent to the swimming pool, immersed in the unspoilt nature of the Val d’Orcia, the Taverna di Mozart serves Tuscan specialities and regional wines that will make you rediscover the luxury of genuine flavours of the past.

What will make you fall in love with this refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life will be the panoramic view over the valley, the careful selection of local and natural products, and the original and still faithful approach to the Tuscan gastronomic tradition.

SLOW FOOD, SLOW LIVING
In line with the aim of preserving and enhancing the territorial heritage of the Val d’Orcia, i.e. the historical, natural and cultural resources that characterise the beauty of this land, we have carved the restaurant of our resort out of an old stable.

The breathtaking landscape and the vintage ambience recreated by the furnishings and Italian music of the 1950s guarantee an authentic Tuscan experience, in perfect slow living style.

The secret of our creations is the combination of passion, quality and genuine flavours. Each dish is made with Tuscan products selected from trusted suppliers, combining the tradition of regional gastronomic culture with the creative flair of our cook.

Meant for an enjoyable cuisine, the ingredients are few but good, because we intend to deliver a flavour that is essential and clean. The result is a menu of typical but not obvious specialities, at the same time simple and refined, which varies with the seasons, depending on the availability of products.

The famous Tuscan pici handmade with strictly local flours, fine meats selected from farms that do not resort to using fertilisers and pesticides, legumes and vegetables from small farms are just some of the specialities of Tuscan cuisine that you can taste at our restaurant.

You can enjoy them inside the tavern, in a vintage atmosphere accentuated by the essential and salvaged furniture, capable of giving you an authentic experience of our land; alternatively, you can try the specialities of Tuscan cuisine outdoors, under the wisteria that clings to the large pergola, enjoying the boundless and barrier-free view of the Val d’Orcia.

POOLSIDE PARTY IN TUSCANY
Locanda in Tuscany is the ideal choice for parties, far from the noises and the busy life of the city and in an exclusive and private location. Pool parties are a must in the summer time and we tailor-make each of them depending on guests’ preferences. A cocktail bar with deejay music, as well as a Tuscan barbecue or a fun picnic with a live.

NATURAL TUSCAN WINES
Excellent natural Tuscan wines can be paired with typical dishes. Our staff will be able to advise you on which label to choose according to each course, so as to best enhance the flavours. As well as trying our wines in the restaurant, you can choose to taste them in your room or buy them and take them with you as a souvenir of the Val d’Orcia.

WEDDINGS IN TUSCANY
Locanda in Tuscany is located very close to the cosy village of Castiglione d’Orcia. It is an enchanted place, shrouded in a magical allure, ideal for engagements, elopements, parties and charming weddings custom-made on your needs.

The ceremonies can be officiated either in the garden of the resort, under a pergola close to the pool or in the middle of our grain fields with a great view on the Val d’Orcia, UNESCO World Heritage site. The onsite Tuscan restaurant Taverna di Mozart can accomodate up to 60 guests inside, while in the gardens, into the court, or in the fields

we can accomodate up to 200 people. A 20mt long swimming pool immersed in our private gardens, offers a boundless view of the valley and its rolling hills. The characteristic patio in front of the pool, features an outside charming fireplace which offers the chance to party also during the night surrounded by the warm light of a blazing fire.

Couple can choose the onsite restaurant for an authentic Tuscan reception or a 1* Michelin catering service that we trust and have known for a long time, but we also welcome any other external catering.

MOVIE LOCATION IN TUSCANY
Tuscany is perhaps one of the most renowned region in Italy as a backdrop for the most impressive tv commercials, fashion shootings, editorials and famous movies such as “The gladiator” for example or “Under the Tuscan sun”.

Locanda in Tuscany is in the heart of Val d’Orcia, very close to the medieval village of Castiglione d’Orcia and offers magnificent landscapes and a genuine Italian flavor. The building is a private country mansion from the XVII century totally renovated in respect to the Tuscan authenticity and its traditions.

The area with its nature, villages, local architecture and culture is generally acknowledged to be among the world’s richest. The resort is located also 10 minutes away from Bagno Vignoni and Bagni di San Filippo and about 20 minutes away from Pienza and San Quirico d’Orcia as well as surrounded by some of the most famous vineyards.

For crews and shoots, the property is easy accessible and offers plenty of space for trucks, kit and cars. We have worked with clients from all over the globe therefore we’re very familiar with international production requirements either the location is rented for documentaries, fashion shooting or event, reality shows or movies.

VAL D’ORCIA
The Italian word for host (ospite) defines both the person offering hospitality and the one who receives it: host and guest overlap and intertwine.

Inspired by this ideal of cohesion, we aim at evolving in harmony with those who choose our resort for their stay in Tuscany, as well as with our collaborators and with the land itself.At the Locanda, luxury is quintessential: it is about getting a unique experience of the territory, a taste of Tuscany, a touch of it.

The pleasures given by the typical Tuscan flavors, by the colors and scents of the landscape, constitute the richness of Val d’Orcia that we want to celebrate with Amore Toscano: a project inspired by the love for this region, initiated in 2020 in collaboration with local craftsmen and producers.

Our shared aim is to enhance the territorial heritage of Val d’Orcia: a set of historical, natural, cultural, and commercial resources resulting from the co-evolution between settlements and natural environment.

CRAFTMANSHIP & ART OF TUSCANY
We collaborate with fashion ateliers, professionals in the textile sector, wedding dress designers, and artisans specialized in the production of bags and leather accessories, but also with local painters and visual artists. Together we aim to rejuvenate an economy that cares for the territory in which it is rooted.
