JUNIOR SUITES

The deluxe rooms are located in the main villa and in the small stone houses. or in the new Vigneto Villa. Deluxe rooms are ideal for a romantic stay. Each room is equipped with a large Queen size double bed, with precious linen curtains and wrought iron or padded headboards, a relaxation area and a bathroom with shower. Some have an outdoor patio or small garden.

“Il Falconiere was born out of my great passion for cooking in 1989, at a particular time when there was a great desire for new places, immersed in nature and offering a cuisine with special characteristics: for me it has always been a special place to inspire.

Together with executive chef Richard Titi, we have been working for many years, and we have realized that we are complementary and supportive of one another. IL FALCONIERE RESTAURANT
The restaurant, Il Falconiere, was born from the ancient lemon tree with its beautiful panoramic and covered terrace overlooking the hills of the Tuscan countryside.

The high quality of ingredients, respect of seasonality, and the use of products at km 0 are the guiding principles of all dishes on the menu, enhanced by a wide selection of wines, among which the prestigious labels of Baracchi Winery.

Il Falconiere Restaurant has 1 Michelin Star since 2002. On the upper floor the elegant and intimate Lounge Bar ” La dolce vita” open from 11am to 12pm.

CHEF SILVIA BARACCHI
Born in Perugia and raised in the heart of Cortona, Silvia Regi Baracchi proudly declares herself “Etruscan”. From a family of restaurateurs she has inherited passion for good food, the sensitivity to the traditions and the art of hospitality, all-the-while with the positive energy of Il Falconiere inspiring her culinary style day by day.

Silvia boasts many culinary experiences with Chefs from around the world that have allowed her to share the cuisine of Cortona with the world and many years she has worked with the Executive Chef Richard Titi, with which she shares a profound harmony and a constant evolution. Consistency is the concept that embraces her kitchen.

The results are exceptional ingredients coupled with cooking methods that enhance the flavors of Tuscany and the balance between quality and presentation of the dish: an awareness and understanding that will intrigue the more experienced diner and satisfy lovers of simplicity.

The company Agricola Baracchi comes from the desire of Riccardo and his son Benedetto to continue the old family traditions of grape growing and wine production, giving it a modern character and great quality. The Baracchi Estate is located on a beautiful hill with a wonderful view of the Valdichiana Valley, Under the Tuscan Sun.

Baracchi’s Family strongly desired to join the world of hospitality, good cuisine and wellness with the production of great wines linked by energy and passion to continue the family tradition of grape growing, which began in 1860, adding now a modern and high quality character. Riccardo and Benedetto with enologist Stefano Chioccioli from the beginning collaborated to realize a modern and dynamic farm.

LOCANDA DEL MOLINO
Once upon a time there was an ancient Mill to crush olives and obtain wonderful oil… today it houses a lovely and charming inn and an extraordinary restaurant with typical Tuscan cuisine.

It’s a true inn, one that keeps an authentic and unadulterated spirit, one where wayfarers used to stop during their travels and rest in front of the hearth. One of those inns where guests arrive and stay with pleasure because they feel welcome, one which is easy to reach but hard to leave.

“Welcome to our world of … wine!” A true local experience, grape harvesting: you will join our team, equipped with straw hat, basket and shears, to “select” the most beautiful bunches. The experience will be enriched by the typical outdoor lunch with the team: a fire, a grill, the fragrance of Tuscan silly bread and the inevitable glass of red wine.

Thus Cortona places you among the most important Franciscan destinations together with La Verna and Assisi.

AREZZO (25 Km – 38 minutes)
In the heart of the medieval town, everything tells us about the great seasons of Arezzo’s art and architecture. This is a journey through the past of this proud Comune, of which tell us the streets and the old faces of the houses, the color of the sandstone, the unique and beautiful Piazza Grande, the churches and the public palaces survived to the Florentine fury.

Not to be missed the Saracino Joust, a huge historical event and tournament among the city quarters, through which we can lunge into an amazing historical period; other attractions: the antiques fair, the “Legend of the true cross” by Piero della Francesca, the Cimabue’s crucifix, the gold jewelry, one of the most important in Italy. MONTALCINO (45 Km – 1 hour)
Speaking of Montalcino immediately springs to mind the Brunello, world famous D.O.C.G. wine, but Montalcino is not just wine, it is also a fortified town that holds part of the 19 wall towers and the ancient water fountains that give it an austere albeit fascinating look.

The medieval buildings are beautiful and enlivened by the typical shops and wine bars.In the most inaccessible part of the “Crete Senesi” area one finds the unmistakable silhouette of the Abbey of Monte Oliveto, a gorgeous convent guarded on three sides by sheer cliffs and surrounded by a large garden embellished with a sixteenth century fish pool.

MONTEPULCIANO (30 km – 38 minutes)
Montepulciano and Pienza – About 30 Km from Cortona, a day to discover two delightful towns: Montepulciano, a city that history wants founded by the Etruscan Porsenna … and that certainly exists since 714 BC

The numerous works of Renaissance artists have earned the town the name of “Pearl of the Sixteenth Century”, now together with the production of Vino Nobile is famous throughout the world.

Stopping to admire the church of San Biagio and the panorama that surrounds it, we also head towards Pienza, a true, small jewel wanted by Pope Pius II and represents the first application of the humanistic-Renaissance concept of civitas and the original nucleus of development of ideal city project.

TRASIMENO LAKE (22 km – 30 minutes)
Lake Trasimeno is located in the green heart of Umbria, amidst beds of reeds and charming white water lilies. It’s a true natural paradise home to wild ducks, cormorants, kites and kingfishers. Beyond the downward slope, gentle hills form the backdrop to the lake, along with sporadic woods and sunflower and corn fields, vineyards and olive groves.

Agriculture here is still carried out following traditional techniques. Several town are located on Lake Trasimeno. Some of them directly face the lake while others are nearby and are affected by the charm and attraction of this sheet of water.

ASSISI (80 km – 1 hour)
The heart of Christian spirituality, Assisi, is laid out in terraces on the slopes of Mount Subasio following a typical medieval plan over imposing the Roman city. The historical center, pivoting around the Franciscan Basilica and on the three large squares: City Hall, San Rufino, and Santa Chiara enclose exceptional monuments of architecture and figurative arts.

In the same day we advise a short hop to the nearby Spello, typical village on the eastern slope of Mount Subasio. The church of Santa Maria Maggiore alone is worth the visit, with paintings by Perugino and the beautiful Baglioni Chapel frescoed by Pinturicchio.

The precious olive oil we produce starts from the olive harvest on our property, a local experience with our team, and then moves on to the visit of a typical mill with the tasting of the new oil that you have helped to produce.

TUSCAN VINEYARDS
Grapes, its leaves and wine have extraordinary antioxidant properties and can have beneficial effects on the skin, circulation and skin aging. Grapes and wine, must and pips from Riccardo Baracchi’s vineyards … obviously the best grapes go into the bottle, but their richness goes further and turns into massage oils or extracts for a relaxing bath in wine.

A gentle peeling with pomace precedes a relaxing massage, helping to prevent the formation of free radicals. The inebriant DiVino bath based on red wine extracts will stimulate circulation leaving you with silky smooth skin. A glass of Baracchi red wine will complete this elegant ritual.
