Famed artist Lon Megargee created The Hermosa Inn in the 1930s as his private escape before opening up to guests.
All these years later, the ownership has changed, but our luxury boutique inn retains that original intimate feel, complete with homey touches: Lon’s original artwork hanging on the walls, a flourishing garden, upscale furnishings throughout.
With a reputation based on warm, personal service, The Hermosa Inn is also an ideal retreat for executive meetings and social gatherings, including small weddings, birthdays, and holiday parties.
Our AAA Four Diamond restaurant, LON’s at the Hermosa, showcases globally inspired Arizona fare, with the possibility of being served on our award-winning patio near a glowing fireplace.
The Hermosa Inn is located within minutes of prestigious shopping, sporting event facilities, golf, art, entertainment venues, and major business corridors of both Phoenix and Scottsdale.
The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is just 15 minutes from our front door. The Inn has recently completed an accommodations remodel to transform its enchanting guest casitas to a new level of sophistication and comfort.

Globally Inspired Arizona Fare at LON’s Restaurant
There’s a reason why LON’s at The Hermosa Inn is rated as one of Paradise Valley’s top restaurants. We seek out the region’s freshest ingredients and prepare them with age-old cooking traditions—roasting, smoking, wood-grilled—combined with cutting-edge trends.
The result? Globally inspired Arizona cuisine, with our popular Himalayan Salt Seared Ahi Tuna, served with cilantro, pickled onion, and ceviche sauce, as a prime example. A new Chef’s Tasting Menu is offered each week, and our expert sommelier is always on-hand to recommend the perfect wine pairings.
LON’s offers an intimate dining experience, beautifully lit and surrounded by adobe and rustic ironwork. For that truly romantic dinner, dine by one of the lounge fireplaces.
Or enjoy a private candlelit dinner in our atmospheric Wine Cellar, which seats up to 12 guests at our rustic trestle table and features 1890’s Chicago brick, reclaimed beams, and trusses.
The Perfect Pairings
LON’s wine program has been recognized by the Wine Spectator magazine continuously since 1996 and has received its coveted Best of Award of Excellence since 2015.
The wine list takes its cue from our Globally Inspired Arizona fare and our sommelier wine expertise compliments the culinary philosophy that gastronomical excellence is achieved through the entire dining experience.
Our subterranean wine cellar and three wine vaults house nearly 700 labels from American appellations to classic Old World vintages.
LON’s offers the wine aficionado a selection of outstanding wine and exceptional wine values from Italy, Spain, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, as well as Germany and Alsace.
Spirits Up at Lon’s Last Drop
Here’s something the locals know. Cozy and casual, LON’s Last Drop is one of the region’s best places to relax over a craft cocktail or Arizona brew.
A recent makeover has added an expanded bar patio with five outdoor fireplaces and a new all-day menu featuring small plates, sandwiches, salads, and pizzas baked in a wood-burning oven. And the name? Last Drop is an iconic painting by Lon Megargee showing a cowboy watering his horse from his Stetson.
Gather your friends for happy hour, or an after dinner drink on the patio and enjoy locally inspired cocktails or our selection of Arizona beer and wine on tap. Our latest creation “The Last Drop” is made with Del Bac ‘Last Drop’ Private Barrel whiskey, Luxardo apricot, Cocchi di Torino sweet vermouth, and blood orange.

Things To See & Do in Paradise Valley, Arizona
There’s a reason why the Valley of the Sun—the Arizona haven comprising the metro regions of Scottsdale, Phoenix, and Tempe—was named as such.
The sun shines more than 325 days a year. Which explains the large number of golfers who flock to this desert realm … and the preponderance of world-championship golf courses.
But there’s much, much more to do here in this golden realm, including upscale shopping, outdoor activities, and nightlife. And The Hermosa Inn is perfectly located to enjoy it all.
Sunshine and Sophistication
Often ranked as one of the top livable cities in the USA, Scottsdale has been described as the desert version of Miami’s South Beach. There’s plenty to do in the busy downtown, filled with upscale boutiques, fine-dining restaurants, world-class galleries, and museums.
And there’s golfing and hiking and horseback riding as well. But perhaps one of the best reason’s for the region’s popularity, something not everyone knows: Scottsdale boasts more spas per head than anywhere else in the USA.
Golfing
You’ll find more than 200 golf courses in the Scottsdale-Phoenix area with challenging and dramatic holes set amid the desert landscape.
The Hermosa Inn has arrangements with many of the courses, and our concierge would be delighted to arrange preferred tee times for you or your group. Here are some of the area’s top courses.
Shopping
The Hermosa Inn is within minutes of world-class shopping, whether you’re seeking upscale retailer, a glitzy fashion mall, or unique boutiques. Here are some of the best places to give your wallet a workout.
Art Galleries
Hundreds of galleries and museums, a number of fine performing arts venues, and many architectural wonders make up a year-round celebration of art and culture in Phoenix and Scottsdale, Arizona.
We are home to Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and school of architecture, Taliesin West, and the world-renowned Heard Museum, just to name a few. Here are some must-see cultural destinations.
Sport
The Valley of the Sun is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Cardinals, the Phoenix Coyotes, and the Fiesta Bowl. Additionally, Cactus League Baseball and ASU Sports attract fans from across the country.
Desert
With more than 330 days of sunshine a year in Phoenix and Scottsdale, the valley is the perfect place to indulge in your favorite desert adventures.
